ROOSEVELT, THEODORE

A large, one page document appointing Alfred Dent to be a notary public for the District of Columbia has been signed by Theodore Roosevelt, as President, on February 8th, 1905. Also signed by Attorney General William Moody. Moody previously served as a Congressman from Massachusetts and was later appointed to the Supreme Court by Roosevelt, leaving him in the unique position of having served in all three branches of government. Roosevelt's name is ornately printed at the top of the document. A large, red, embossed Presidential seal is affixed at the lower left. In excellent condition. $1,195.
