A large, bold headline reads, “JOHN LENNON SHOT DEAD.” The main article begins, “…John Lennon, leader of the legendary Liverpool pop group, The Beatles, was shot dead in New York today by a crazed gunman.” Another column headline reads, “A GREAT LOSS TO THE WORLD— PAUL.” The front page is dominated by the news, with an image of Lennon and a photograph of Yoko Ono leaving the hospital in New York.
